 David Banner,  The Game and Queens bred lyricist Prodigy have all gone on the record to voice their outrage.  Banner talks  about what he sees as New York giving African-Americans the middle finger, and the “cowards” who allow it to continue.”I was outraged but I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t get mad anymore,” Banner told SOHH exclusively. “I have to think logically. I think one of the problems with America is that we’ve adapted Bush’s cowboy mentality to everything. With the Sean Bell situation New York is basically saying, ‘f*ck n*ggas.’” Banner was shocked that while the three officers were brought up on eight counts, not even one charge against the cops stuck.

“[They] shot Sean Bell 51* times and they got eight counts and you can’t convict on one count,” Banner said. “Not even endangerment? You shot 51 times homie!” They know that we not gonna do sh*t,” he said. “We ain’t gonna do sh*t but beef amongst ourselves. Our generation is a bunch of cowards and they know that and that’s including me. All of us, we cowards and if you’re not a coward then do something about it. “All these tough ass rappers, where they at now,” he added. “Where are the football players? The basketball players? Where are our senators? Where are the other black cops that work with them cops that shot their children? They’re cowards!” “It pisses me off, I’m hurt and to a certain degree I’m scared, too,” Banner said. “I got to be enough of a man to say that.”

“The NYPD is just a branch of corruption connected to a giant corrupt tree called the United States government,” Prodigy of Mobb Deep said via a press release. “Right now we have a government that controls the people, instead of people that control their government. Until we can do that, there’ll be several more incidents like the murder of Sean Bell.”

Life sucks to be famous and have to deal with public humiliation. It’s not new for Star Jones.  After three-and-a-half years of wardrobe-sharing bliss, standing side-by-side through the good times (the Branded Wedding of the Century, brought to you by 1-800-Flowers, Smirnoff Ice, and the Portugal Tourism Board) and the bad ( being fired from the view), ETOnline is now reporting that 46 year old Star Jones has filed for divorce from her husband 39 year old Al Reynolds.

I’m amazed these two are still together, but apparently they’ve learned to live separate lives quite well, certainly better than Pink and Carey Hart seemed to do. They are getting divorced too. . apparently while Star was working at Court Tv during the 5 month run after the View, rumors were around that Al was sneaking off to see his boys again.  But now with the divorce he won’t have to sneak off to the Central Park dog run for playmates,  and no more separate cabanas at Club Med to keep up appearances. These are all the stories  that had been coming out about Al living a separate life from Star.  Flo our gossip chick you hear every morning  around  8:10 said  her gay  friends  claim to have had affairs with Al. Here’s the whole story. Fox Searchlight has hired Jamal Woolard, a Brooklyn-based rapper, to play late rap icon Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G., in its upcoming biopic “Notorious.”

Derek Luke, Angela Bassett and Anthony Mackie also have been cast in the movie, the art-house studio said. Directed by George Tillman Jr. (”Soul Food”), it goes into production this month and is set for release in January.

Luke (”Catch a Fire”) will play Biggie record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, who off-screen is an executive producer on the film. Mackie (”Brother to Brother”) will play rival rapper Tupac Shakur, while Bassett (”Akeelah and the Bee”) will play Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace.

The production held an open casting call last fall in the hope of finding the next Notorious B.I.G., ne Christopher Wallace, the generously built East Coast rapper who was killed in an unsolved Los Angeles drive-by in 1997.

The idea, executives said, was that as with casting for sports movies like “Miracle,” the production would be better served with a non-actor who can rap and imitate Biggie than with a pro actor who might need to be taught how to rap. More than 100 Biggie wannabes, many of them non-pros and all with the requisite size, turned out to show off their rapping and impersonation skills. Woolard, who also is known as Gravy, is not a total unknown. He has released a number of albums, though he’s perhaps best known for being shot before a radio appearance outside the New York hip-hop station Hot 97 two years ago, after which he proceeded with the interview and became a part of hip-hop lore.

Like Biggie, Woolard was a drug dealer before he became a rapper. He had released a number of albums on indie labels in the 1990s before being signed by Warner Bros. Voletta Wallace cited “Jamal’s charming personality, warm spirit, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile” as reasons for the casting. “He is a talented and charismatic actor, and I am excited that he will bring Christopher’s character to life,” she said.
