DAVID COOK WINS !!!!! AND MILAGROS’S E -MAIL..

HAPPY THURSDAY EVERYONE !THIS IS SWEET !! AMERICA GOT IT RIGHT!!  AFTER 97 MILLION VOTES  DAVID COOK IS  THE AMERICAN IDOL.  HE BEAT  DAVID ARCHULETTA  BY 12 MILLION  VOTES.  SO GREAT  AND WAIT  FOR THE IDOL TOUR  IT WILL COME TO HARTFORD AND WE WILL HAVE YOUR TICKETS.

The night opened with the two Davids dressed in white as the lights rose to reveal the packed Nokia Theater in downtown L-A. The rest of the Top 12 singers joined their former competitors for a group sing alongside the So You Think You Can Dance dancers.

That started a night of song with the Idols we’ve come to know this season…

The two Davids did a duet of Nickelback’s “Hero.”

Our last lady standing, Syesha Mercado, got to sing “Waiting for You” with Seal.

The Top 6 ladies did a Donna Summers medley before the ’70s Disco Queen took the stage herself. There was a minor microphone malfunction that the seasoned pro Summers quickly covered.

The Top 6 guys crooned some Bryan Adams tunes before the Canadian rocker made a showing.

This year’s folk favorite, Brooke White, did a duet of “Teach Your Children” with Graham Nash.

Dreadlocked Jason Castro performed Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

Irish lass Carly Smithson and Aussie Michael Johns sang a duet of the Box Tops classic “The Letter.”

David Cook did “Sharp Dressed Man” with Z-Z Top.

David Archuleta sang “Apologize” with One Republic.

Last year’s Idol winner Jordin Sparks did her latest single “One Step at a Time,” and another past Idol winner Carrie Underwood came back to sing her new single, “Last Name.”

Finally the Top 12 took the stage one last time for some songs by George Michael, who performed “Praying for Time.” It brought judge Paula Abdul to tears.

A few folks from Hollywood came out for the big night…

In a video segment, Mike Myers appeared as the enlightened title star of his upcoming movie The Love Guru. He advised Cook to cut his ’90s facial hair, and promised teen Archuleta that he would soon have hair in weird and wonderful places.

Jimmy Kimmel did some stand-up, and brought a video compilation of Simon Cowell’s nastiest comments of the season.

Another video segment took us to a 1972 “auditions” for Gladys Knight and the Pips, with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Junior as oh-so-sexy “Pips.”

Soon after he was crowned, winner David Cook called to the camera, “I’m going to Disney World!” He’s a rare non-sports exception to the famous winning phrase for a tie-in with the American Idol attraction that opens in Walt Disney World in January.
